Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Alexander.

Hi Christy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.

My love for art started as a little girl! I loved coloring, drawing and painting! As I got a little older I enjoyed taking pictures and even created a huge collage on one wall in my bedroom! It was always fun looking at all the memories that I had with my family and friends!

Fast forward years later……now a momma of 9, I find once again, I love looking back at photos and reminiscing about all the different memories! My babies are growing up so fast, they are only little for so long! Having pictures and videos of my children brings such joy to my heart!

I decided to pursue a career out of a passion of mine. I want to help others find joy and capture their most valuable memories! Being an entrepreneur is a work of art in and of itself. Growing and allowing yourself to express who you are within your business is important to me.

There are many different forms of art and photography is one that has impacted my life the most. I love that in the photography business, things are always changing which makes it exciting. Whether it’s new gear such as a new lens or new styles of editing and editing softwares or CRM softwares to help grow your business, there is always a way to better yourself.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

All growth comes with obstacles and challenges. Whether it’s mental, physical, or financial, there’s the mental battle of imposter syndrome, not feeling good enough or self acceptance!

Then the physical battle of not shooting in a climate controlled studio but shooting outdoors in the natural raw elements. Then of course the financial battle! It takes money to make money! Paying for all your equipment, props, client closets items or simply travel or education costs can all be an obstacle to navigate!

Another challenge that I have encountered is time. Time is of the essence when scheduling sleepy babies or young children that don’t want to hold still.

If you are not being challenged then you are not growing.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

My artwork would be considered bold and emotional by most! Storytelling and empowering!

Besides family portraits, I pride myself on creative portraits! Most people struggle in some way shape or form with self acceptance. Through a creative portrait session your inner god/goddess can be unleashed!

There is just something about being out in the raw elements that allows you to feel free to be who you are! I want to create images that others are proud to see themselves in.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?

I also love outdoor Boudoir! Boudoir is commonly considered very intimate and may feel vulnerable! The purpose of outdoor boudoir is to find your most authentic self in the most freeing space!

I think people interpret a Boudoir session as having to be nude or in lingerie but that is not the case at all! You can be and feel sexy in anything when you are given the power and space to be yourself!
